Shelter project volunteers (from St. Mary’s) Rachel and Rob, along with two others, will be attempting (and succeeding!) the Oxfam Trailwalker challenge. Below is what they say about it:
If you’ve never heard of Oxfam’s Trailwalker before – It’s a 100km hike, day and night, across the south downs in under 30 hours. We’ll be setting off around 7am on the 25th July, and hopefully returning (bedraggled but triumphant) on the morning of the 26th.
As a team we have to raise £1500 for Oxfam before being able to take part. That’s only £375 between the four of us and it will make a huge difference to all of Oxfam’s many amazing projects fighting poverty world wide.
None of us are by any means professional hikers or have taken on anything like this before, but we’re investing a lot of time and effort into training and we really want to push ourselves emotionally and physically and give it our best shot. Please show us your support by giving as much as you can afford, it will all add up!
And if we haven’t all killed each other in a hungry/sleep deprived rage by the end of it, it’ll be a miracle 😉
Thank you! The Hangry Hikers x
It’s an incredible feat so if you would like to support them in this challenge you can do so on their just giving page here.
